This is my way of reminding myself of the little things that recently made me happy as inspired by Helga.

I have been extremely busy these past few weeks hence the unintentional hiatus. Work was crazy due to movements in the team and the little downtime I had, I chose to spend on catching up on sleep. I wasn’t THAT physically tired but it sure felt like my brain was FRIED. But anyway, I am trying to slowly get back on track with the blog. I am currently stuck at home with a slight fever and an upset stomach so this post serves as a good distraction. So here is the week’s list.

  1. Cris and I very rarely go to malls (I tend to avoid malls because PEOPLE, ’nuff said) so I was quite adamant when he said he wanted to have our date-night at SM Megamall. I gave in and we had a lovely dinner at a curry house. Then he dragged me to the appliance store and bought me an oven! I have always wanted one but keep putting off buying one for no apparent reason and now he finally did it for me. Brownie points for the man! 🙂
  2. I love eating out and trying out new restaurants. This weekend, Cris and I got to try out the food at Eri Curry and decided to film our meal.I started a ~web series~ on my YouTube channel and named it Dead Hungry, which directly and aptly translates to Patay Gutom LOL. If you’re keen on watching us stuff our faces with delicious curry, I’d appreciate it if you watch the video below.

  1. Some friends decided to come over to our condo unit and cooked up a feast for us.We had buttered garlic shrimp, halaan soup, buttered veggies and fried whole fish. YUM!
  2. To commemorate June as PRIDE Month, we staged a mini-concert at work featuring employee talents and a ~celebrity guest~. We invited over Rita from The Voice Philippines and she was great. My group also performed two songs that show support to the LGBT community.
  3. Free food! My team won around Php10K from another event and we decided to celebrate by ordering lunch for everyone. Free food is always good LOL.
  4. It’s time for our Midyear Performance Evaluation and I am so glad to hear good feedback from both my supervisor and manager. I have been working my butt off extra hard this year and it just feels good to be validated.
  5. Finding girlfriends who share your opinions and beliefs.Whether it be towards social media, money, relationships, work or whatever.
  6. A friend from work recently went to Boracay and I am so happy he obliged to buy mea box of Calamansi Muffins from Real Coffee. I have been having it for breakfast with a cup of coffee and  it just starts my day off at the right note.
  7. My company provides car service to employees who leave work after 10pm. I always work way past the time and it’s just so nice to not worry about getting home safe and sound. Not to mention the savings I incur. I swear, cab money has been burning a hole in my pocket.
  8. I finally watched the finale of iZombie 1! I love it and I can’t wait for the next season to start.

Borawan is a play on two words – Boracay and Palawan. It’s an island named so because, as some people claim, it has white sand reminiscent of Boracay and rock formations the same as Palawan’s limestone cliffs. If one gets the chance to have the Boracay and Palawan experience in one at a measly price, one grabs it.

My friends and I boarded a bus bound to Lucena, got off at the Grand Terminal. Got on a mini bus and alighted at the town of Padre Burgos where we got on tricycles that brought us to the port. From there, we rented a boat that would take us to Borawan Beach. Someone gave us a tip that people usually do the Borawan to Dampalitan route so we decided to go against the flow of people and camp out at Dampalitan Island instead.

Upon arrival to the island, we pitched our tents and settled down for the day.

In all fairness, Dampalitan Island’s sand could pass up as Boracay’s shores from afar. While the sun is shining its brightest, the white sand seems to glow it almost hurts the eyes.

After lunch and a quick nap, the water level went down low enough to reveal a little sandbar. We walked on the sandbar and took photos farther out into the sea. That entertained us for about 30 minutes until it got too hot to be enjoyable. We went back under the shade and napped some more while waiting for the sun to go down. When it got a little cooler, we explored the opposite side of the shore and came across some sea friends.

We watched the sun set and it was beautiful. It was made better by the absence of a big crowd. Guess going against the norm paid off, after all.

When it got dark, we cooked and had our dinner. We built a fire and drank and danced around it. We also roasted marshmallows for our s’mores. It was a great night. 🙂

The next day, our boat came by and brought us to Borawan Beach.

I had to agree that the cliffs do resemble the limestone formations in Palawan albeit being miniature compared to the real thing. When we got to the island, there was a group of rock climbers uhmmmmm climbing the rocks LOLOLOL. We contented ourselves in climbing on top the less intimidating ones and swimming around the clear waters. We didn’t really do much at Borawan Island and I have to say that I liked Dampalitan better.

Borawan is being marketed better than what it actually is. But if you’re looking for a new beach to explore this summer, it is still worth the try.

Gosh! It’s been over two months since my last blog post. I feel bad for neglecting my tiny cyberspace. But I’m trying to get back on the wagon now. 😉

So what happened, some may ask? Well… Life happened. LOL.

I got busy with work. Ugh. But I was also able to squeeze in a lot of travels, so yay me! I adopted a cat, who I am deeply in love with. I also auditioned and got into our office chorale. We had our first performance last Friday and we received positive comments and we are advancing to the next round. Which also means that we will be rehearsing everyday this week as the next performance is this Friday already. I also got a new phone – iPhone4S; another thing that keeps me up at night. LOL.

So there! That happened. For now, pictures, yes?

Went on a road trip to Subic. Visited the Zoobic Safari and watched movies in our hotel.

Had a blast in Boracay. I cannot believe it took me this long to visit the island!

I’m a sucker for DIY projects. So I transformed this out-of-style Angry Bird iPhone case into a rasta-inspired one. Cool, right?

Took a 4-day vacation to Coron. Had a lovely time!

The infamous Kayangan Lake. Postcard perfect.

Still from Coron. We saw a double rainbow on our way to the open sea.

My baby Uno giving me kitty kisses ❤

She loves hanging out with me in my room 🙂

Stayed in last Saturday night to give my body a rest and spend some time with my kitty
